- Josh Thompson, has been around it all of his life, but been building in the field for 7 years.
- What are the available materials?
- We use traditional lumbers such as cedar, treated lumber, as well as composite decking.
- Which is best?
- Depends on your taste, budget and how long you plan on staying in your home:
- Traditional woods materials have a natural feel, and are structurally sound but require annual protection from the rain and sun (weatherproofing). Traditional wood decks will warp, and splinter to some degree even with regular maintenance.
- Composite materials will not warp, splinter, decay or rot, composites require specific installation methods for material expansion, and they do require periodic cleaning and will fade over time. The latest low maintenance materials require specific installation methods. If these methods are not carefully followed you may void the product manufacturers warranty.
